Job Description/Task Requirements
Basic Function:
Adhered to Company policies and departmental procedures. Manage and co-ordinate all aspects of the contractor and in house teams performing the installations. Quality checks on all installations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS & TASKS)

• Splicing Technician is responsible for the implementation of the link and route build
• Splice up new customers onto the network
• Receive and able to understand Splicing Instructions
• Building links,
• Notifying the Network owner if there are any changes to the SI
• Recording changes made on the SI and compile an As build Document
• Ensuring that the Network is well maintained and running optimally and efficiently
• Responsible for ensuring that repairs are done within the SLA in all areas
• Resolve all breaks within the SLA
• Maintaining of hand holes and routes on a daily basis (cleaning, numbering, slack management and labelling)
• Identify weak spots and breaks in the network that are high risk
• Identify high traffic routes, protect weak spots, rectify/remedy cutting over cables or cutting into joints
• Maintain shortest timelines between temporary and permanent repairs
• In conjunction with Project Manager/ Installations Manager get floaters to go out and float cable
• Liaise with the landlord where necessary
• To liaise with the contractor and to give daily documented feedback to the Project/Installations Manager with regards to the progress of the project
• Compile report after project using all information obtained from contractors
• Responsible for quality workmanship
• Deliver site instruction in case of non-compliance by contractor
• Keep up to date on technical developments, standards and specifications on offerings
• Perform any other work related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time by the line manager.

Candidate Requirements:
• Code 8 driver’s license – Negotiable
• Telecommunications civil work experience and knowledge.
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience in the Telecommunications Industry
• Knowledge of Fibre Optics
